In An Instant

Authors: Lee and Bob Woodruff

Publisher: Random House

Price: $34, HC

Bob Woodruff had just been named co-anchor of ABC’s World News Tonight when weeks later, on assignment in Iraq, he was hit by an improvised explosive device that left him severely wounded.

In this memoir, co-written by his wife Lee, Woodruff recounts the events in his life that led up to the instant that forever changed his family.

This emotional story is especially inspirational for anyone who has been touched by illness and has struggled with recovery.

Bad Bridesmaid

Author: Siri Agrell

Publisher: Harper Collins

Price: $19.95, HC

Newspaper journalist Siri Agrell ended up being ousted as a bridesmaid when she wrote a column questioning the necessity of enduring a year of wedding madness for a friend. Apparently the bride didn’t share her views.

Agrell shares her story, along with many other real-life stories, in her newest book Bad Bridesmaid. As someone who will be a Maid of Honour in May, I loved reading this book, even though I thankfully didn’t relate to any of the Bridezilla stories.
