Toronto police issue Canada-wide murder warrant after man hit in parking lot

TORONTO – Toronto police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for a suspect after a man died from being run down by a vehicle in a parking lot.

Seran Kasilingam, 28, also known as Kuttyshawn, is wanted for second-degree murder. Police allege Nanthi Eashan Dharmaratnam, 25, was deliberately struck by a vehicle that accelerated before hitting him early Saturday.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy determined the cause of death as blunt head and torso injuries.

Police say Kasilingam was driving a blue 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo with Ontario licence plate BFCJ 906, and that the car was damaged.

It’s believed he has friends in the Montreal, Ottawa and Sault Ste. Marie areas, and police in those communities have been alerted.
