Tourism numbers in Nova Scotia are up through the first four months of 2010.

The province released its updated statistics yesterday and it shows there has been a six per cent increase in visitors from January through April of this year, compared to last.

Room nights sold are also up three per cent, with all regions seeing an increase except for South Shore and Cape Breton regions, which remained on par.

“We are encouraged to see that we’re ahead of where we were last year although it is very early in the season to speculate on where the year will bring,” Minister of Tourism, Heritage and Culture Percy Paris said in a release.
