The missing bicycle belonging to Vermont tourist Bob Viens has reappeared.
The bike was discovered by an Amherst resident out walking Saturday morning. It was found in the middle of a front yard, just a block away from where it went missing.
“When I first arrived here in Amherst, after having my bike stolen, I admit I wasn’t seeing this town in a very positive light,” said Viens. “After all the support I’ve received … that has definitely changed.”
The bike was found in near perfect condition, but stripped of all its equipment.
After the story broke about the stolen bicycle, Viens received overwhelming support from people of Amherst.
On Thursday, Viens ordered a new bicycle identical to the stolen one. Viens now says he will auction it off and donate the proceeds to a local cause.
