Re: “Streetcars no longer needed.”


One of the reasons you would want to keep streetcars in operation is to help reduce the use of fuels like gasoline. On page 8 of the same issue (Tuesday, September 26), one reads that Earth’s warming is gaining momentum with temperatures not seen in 1,000 years.


Why would you want to introduce more buses, use up more fuel and contribute to the global warming problem at a time when we need to cut back?
