A local woman is easing the travel struggles of families by offering a new service to city visitors — especially during the busy Christmas travel season.
One Tiny Suitcase offers the convenience of providing baby strollers cribs, car seats, diapers and so much more to families who are travelling but face tight baggage allowance restrictions.
Stacey Corbett started her business of offering rentals of high quality and a broad selection of baby equipment in May of 2006 and said sales have almost tripled since.
“We make travel convenient, simplified and seamless for people coming to the city. We try to make travel comfortable for the families with equipment they would use at home,” she said, adding that it is also cost efficient.
For as low as $5 a day, travellers can arrange to have baby equipment, supplies and even food products arranged for them at the airport, hotel or a friend’s house.
“A lot of our customers have a sister or brother coming in with kids and don’t have anything they need to host a baby so they call us asking us what they need. We’re here to help, especially during Christmas which is the busiest time of the year.”
And what are the three most important pieces of equipment one should have if entertaining guests with kids?
“First and foremost, a crib is the most important because if a baby isn’t sleeping well, nobody is sleeping well,” she laughed. “And a car seat is also really important if you’re going to be driving anywhere.”
