Tuesday's shooting victim identified

Vancouver Police have identified the man killed in East Vancouver on Tuesday as 24-year-old Shane Allan Nessent from Surrey, in what appears to have been a botched home invasion.

 

Vancouver Police have identified the man killed in East Vancouver on Tuesday as 24-year-old Shane Allan Nessent from Surrey.

 

Nessent, who was known to police, was allegedly shot in what appears to have been a botched home invasion near Fraser Street and 53rd Avenue by a resident who lived there.

 

Aleem Mohammed, 19, who was watching TV with his brother when Nessent and a second suspect allegedly came banging on their door, was shot and injured in the incident.

 

RCMP arrested a second suspect in the case on Tuesday night.
