Two arrested after alleged beating at Canada Day concert
Halifax Regional Police said they arrested two men from B.C. lateWednesday night after they allegedly beat another young man unconsciousduring the Canada Day concert in Dartmouth.
Halifax Regional Police said they arrested two men from B.C. late Wednesday night after they allegedly beat another young man unconscious during the Canada Day concert in Dartmouth.
Police said officers responded to Alderney Landing just before 10:30 p.m. afte4r a verbal argument between one of the suspects and the victim, who had both been urinating behind a building, apparently “escalated into a physical confrontation.”
The other suspect joined his friend and both allegedly “punched and kicked the first male until he lost consciousness,” police said.
The 21-year-old and 22-year-old suspects are both charged with assault causing bodily harm, while the 22-year-old victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries to his head and abdomen.
HRP spokesman Const. Brian Palmeter said Thursday he doesn’t believe the two suspects knew their victim before the confrontation took place.
