Paramedics revive one-year-old girl at Toronto home
Two young children are reported in good condition after nearly drowning in a bathtub at their north Toronto home yesterday morning.
Toronto police said the mother had apparently left the one-year-old girl and 10-month-old boy unattended in the tub. When she returned at about 7:45 a.m., she found one of the children not breathing.
Paramedics revived the girl and treated the boy en route to hospital from their home, in the Jane Street and Sheppard Avenue West area.
Staff Sgt. Guy Courvoisier said the children were both in good condition after their close call.
"Both are crying very hard and, in fact, giving one of our officers a headache," he said.
Courvoisier added the incident highlights the dangers of leaving young children alone in bathtubs.
"This appears to be an accident, although we are still investigating," he said.
