A motorcyclist and a pedestrian are dead after two separate highway accidents in the GTA Saturday morning.
Provincial police say at around 1 a.m., a 68-year-old man on a Harley Davidson was exiting Highway 401 when he suddenly decided to return to the highway.
He lost control and hit the crash barrier. The man, from Hamilton, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Less than an hour later, two men were trying to walk across the Queen Elizabeth Way’s eastbound lanes near Burlington.
One of the pedestrians was struck by at least one car and killed.
Police are still investigating why the 20-year-old Halton man and his friend were risking the crossing. The other pedestrian made it across to the centre median safely.
