Two men charged in separate personal robberies

Two city men face charges in relation to two separate personal robberies.

Early Sunday, a lone male accosted a victim in the ByWard Market area and demanded cash.

The victim was assaulted and suffered minor injuries, police say.

Witnesses intervened and the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle. Responding patrol officers later arrested him.

Degady, 29, was charged with robbery, uttering threats, possessing a
weapon, assault and breach of probation. He appears in show cause court
Tuesday.

On April 9, an 83-year-old woman was pushed to the ground in the area of Carling Avenue and

Grenon Avenue, police say. A man stole her personal effects, but she was not injured.

Patrol
officers later arrested a robbery suspect in the area and charged a
27-year-old man with robbery and assaulting a police officer with the
intent to resist arrest.

Abdifatah Aden was held for a show cause hearing and remains in custody.
