Two men are now behind bars and facing a slew of charges after their alleged involvement in a violent home invasion in Lower Sackville.
Halifax RCMP said officers responded to the home invasion just after 1:30 p.m. last Wednesday. The victim inside the residence sustained injuries that aren’t life-threatening, police said, adding it’s believed the suspects and victim are “known to each other.”
Halifax RCMP said Stephen Douglas Skinner, 36, and Barry Andrew Roache, 37, appeared in court yesterday on charges that include forcible confinement, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon causing bodily harm, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace and uttering threats.
They remain in custody and will appear in Dartmouth provincial court again Friday, police said, adding the two men were arrested by authorities at two separate locations Saturday after they had fled to Toronto. Police said Roache has also been charged with breaching an undertaking.
