Two men in court after the Bay jewelry counter robbed

Two men were arrested after a downtown Bay store was robbed Tuesday.

At 12:30 p.m., two men entered the Rideau Street store.

One of the males approached the jewelry counter and indicated that he had a gun, although no gun was seen. He instructed her to fill a bag that he had brought with him.

A loss prevention officer, who had been monitoring the suspects, arrested one man and followed a second suspect onto Rideau Street, where members of the Ottawa police intervened and arrested the male. All property was recovered.

Kevin Desylva, 40, and Roger Allen, 41, were charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.

They appeared in court Wednesday.
