It was a deadly weekend for motorcyclists on roads west of Edmonton.

Two riders died on Sunday at Highway 33 and Township Road 564 when a pickup truck allegedly turned in front of their Harley Davidson.

Edward Rensch, 54, the driver of the Harley from St. Albert, died at the scene. Diane Rensch, 48, also from St. Albert, died a short time later.

The driver of the pickup was uninjured.

The investigation continues, but alcohol and weather are not considered to be factors at this time.

A day before that fatal crash, a 32-year-old Edmonton motorcyclist was seriously injured when he drove his bike into the back of a motorhome at a high rate of speed.

The Saturday afternoon collision occurred on Highway 16 east of Wabamun.

The investigation into that crash also continues.
