Two pro-life students face expulsion

Two members of the U of C Campus Pro Life Club (CPL) faced possible expulsion Wednesday after a review with school officials.

Asia Strezynski and Ryan Wilson had individual hearings with the U of C’s vice-provost and ombudsperson. Neither was able to receive answers to their questions, said their lawyer John Carpay.

The students are disappointed and feel they wasted their time at the hearing, as no further information was given, said Carpay.

“They told us it was a ‘fact finding mission,’” said CPL vice president Peter Csillag. “It was to establish a few key facts.

“As far as I know, we’re the only club on campus that has ever had to deal with this.”

According to CPL, the University will be sending a letter within five to 10 business days with their next course of action. Possible outcomes may include penalties such as a warning, fine, probation or expulsion.

Six more students will face individual, closed door hearings today.
