Two people were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a multi-vehicle accident during yesterday’s morning rush hour on the Circumferential Highway near the Mount Hope exit.
The rear-end collision occurred in the Dartmouth-bound lane at about 8:15 a.m. Paul Maynard of Emergency Health Services said a 29-year-old woman was pinned between two vehicles and firefighters were needed to help her escape. She was taken to Dartmouth General Hospital with neck and back pain. A 20-year-old woman from another car was also taken to Dartmouth hospital with neck and back pain. Maynard listed both in fair condition.
The accident was one of three emergency personnel responded to during the morning commute -- a car went off the road on the Bicentennial Highway towards Halifax, and a vehicle hit a power pole around Lacewood Drive and Stoneybrook Court. Maynard said there were no injuries in either accident.
