Two 16-year-olds are facing charges after extensive damage was done to Bedford South Elementary School over the weekend.
Halifax Regional Police say at 12:30 a.m. on Saturday they were called to a break and enter at the school, which is located at 2 Oceanview Dr. Two 16-year-olds — a male and a female — were apprehended in the area, and according to police, both had cuts on their hands.
Police say about $10,000 in damages were caused in the incident. That includes windows being smashed throughout the interior of the school, and damage to several computers and property in the office.
The youth have each been charged with break and enter and mischief. They have been released into their parents’ custody and are due in youth court at a later date.
