Prime Minister David Cameron is putting the damper on "rape porn" in the U.K., reports Metro UK. The prime minister will announce a new law that punishes possession of rape porn with up to three years in prison.

"Rape porn" is the depiction of rape in pornographic videos or images - this includes simulated rape. Though it is already against the law to publish images of rape, a legal loophole made it impossible for the government to crack down and punish those who possessed the pornographic material, but the law will be changed in January for citizens of England and Wales (possession in Scotland already carries a sentence of three years in prison).

Cameron has criticized rape porn before, saying, "These images normalise sexual violence against women – and they are quite simply poisonous to the young people who see them."
