Vote University of Toronto Scarborough students have voted strongly in favour of helping to finance a high-performance athletic facility on their campus that is central to the city’s hosting of the 2015 Pan Am Games.

“This new facility will be an outstanding legacy for generations of UTSC students and the people who live in this region,” said Franco Vaccarino, principal of University of Toronto Scarborough.

But a representative of the campaign encouraging students to vote against the levy said students were “duped” into paying for a facility that would have been built anyway.
