UFV exam delayed after possible threat

An exam at the University of the Fraser Valley was postponed Thursday after police were told of a possible threat to the school.

According to the RCMP, a third party reported that a student said, “If I fail the exam tomorrow, I’m going to kill everyone like Columbine.”

The threat was received on Wednesday night.

As a precaution, UFV officials delayed the exam, which was scheduled for the Trades and Technology Centre.

The student who allegedly made the comment was eventually found. He’s a 21-year-old man from Chilliwack.

Through an investigation, police have determined there was no intention by the man to act on the threat, according to RCMP Const. Lea-Anne Dunlop.
