One of Nova Scotia’s top women’s teams has removed itself from the Nova Scotia Soccer League Premiership.
Halifax City, which captured a Jubilee Trophy as national senior champions two years ago and has won two of the past three Premiership crowns, folded earlier this month because it was unable to field a team, a league spokesman said.
The move leaves the Premiership with seven teams, including four in the Halifax area: Defending champion Halifax Dunbrack, Halifax County, Dartmouth United and Suburban, formerly known as Scotia. Cape Breton, Highland and Valley round out the rest of the league.
