With the rebound of the economy, people who may have kept their vacations close to home last year are splashing out in 2010.
Held at Lansdowne Park, this weekend’s Ottawa Travel and Vacation Show will give them ideas on how to do it. “The time to plan is right now,” said spokeswoman Halina Player.
According to Player, anything goes in 2010, especially for Ottawa residents, who she said are a “sophisticated, well-informed and well-travelled” population.
Many people don’t just want to sit on a beach, said Player. Culinary and adventure tourism is popular among Ottawa residents. While the show features over 150 exhibitors representing every continent, the show will also include destinations close to home.
