Vancouver-born magician Murray SawChuck performs at a show in Korea.
To advance his career, one Vancouver-born magician is taking his act online.
Murray SawChuck, 28, has been in the magic business for more than 15 years. He stars on a new network, which is launching online this week.
“The website will be thev.tv and there will be clips of me doing original tricks on the streets,” he said. “There is new technology where you don’t have to stream the video or wait for it, it will just come on as soon as you click play.”
SawChuck said the show from the new network, Vegas Entertainment, might get picked up by Canadian TV this summer.
The magician, who now lives in Las Vegas where he has performed at the Flamingo Las Vegas and the MGM Grand, said venturing into TV will give him the opportunity to focus on becoming a personality.
“I’ve hosted a lot of shows and I do standup,” he said. “Magic is my roots and the real strength that I bring to the table but I want to push the envelope.”
