Vancouver’s mayor offered an apology for swearing and dubbing speakers at a recent council meeting “NPA hacks.”
A microphone, left on after the council chamber video cameras switched off, captured Gregor Robertson’s remarks to councillors Heather Deal and Tim Stevenson following Thursday’s council meeting.

“Who are all these f-ing … who are these hacks man? Are they, are they NPA hacks?” the mayor asks.
West End Neighbours, a group concerned about spot rezoning under the city’s Short Term Incentives for Rental housing (STIR) program, posted the video online.
In an email, Robertson said his comments were inappropriate and disrespectful and came after a long and contentious council meeting.
NPA Coun. Suzanne Anton said the mayor’s comments show arrogance and contempt for speakers.
