Vancouver women running for a cure

Years after being diagnosed with breast cancer, Signy Wilson and Brandy Worrall are running toward a breast-cancer-free future.

On Sunday, the Vancouver women will join tens of thousands across Canada when they participate in the 19th annual Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure.

Worrall, who’s been in remission for two years, is running for herself and her two children.

“I really don’t want my children to go through it, but I’m realistic,” she said. “It’s something they’re going to have to go through if medical research doesn’t accelerate.”

The Run is Canada’s largest single-day, volunteer-led event.

“It’s just such an important cause because it’s raising money,” added Wilson.
