Vandals reportedly defaced a playground honoring Newtown victim Ana Marquez-Greene, a 6-year-old who was shot and killed in the deadly 2012 Sandy Hook school massacre.

Hartford police are looking for the culprits after spray-painted messages were discovered Sunday, WCVB reported Monday.

The graffiti, which has since been removed, reportedly said "BEKS" and "Peace to Sandy Hook," using a peace sign and the numeral "2."

The playground opened a month ago as part of the Sandy Ground Project, which has been building a playground for each of the 26 shooting victims, many in areas that also were impacted by Superstorm Sandy.
