VANOC is defending its policies after late-night TV comic Stephen Colbert said U.S. athletes weren’t getting their share of ice time at the Richmond Oval.
During the Nov. 5 episode of the Colbert Report, the satirist said the “syrup suckers” (Canadians) wouldn’t let Americans practise at 2010 venues, referring to rumours that the Richmond Oval hasn’t been as accessible to international athletes as it has to our own.
