Vehicle found in fatal hit-and-run

The vehicle that struck and killed 43-year-old Sandra Casey in an alleged hit-and-run early Sunday morning has been located and a suspect has been identified, though no charges have been officially laid.

At approximately 2:00 a.m. Sunday, Casey was crossing 10 Ave S.W. when a vehicle described by police as a white-coloured sedan, resembling an Oldsmobile Alero, Pontiac Grand Am or Mitsubishi Gallant, struck the victim while travelling westbound near the intersection of 10 Ave. and 17 St. S.W.

The car failed to stop at the secene of the collision or provide any assistance, and Casey was transported to hospital by Calgary EMS where she succumbed to the multiple injuries sustained in the collision.

The traffic section is continuing its investigation and is asking the public to come forward with any information regarding this collision.
