Video footage has been captured and police believe it provides information on a suspected arson at a northeast shopping centre last Thursday.

According to police, a man broke into the Village Square Shopping Centre at 2640 – 52 St. NE around 3:30 a.m. Jan. 21 and proceeded to the food court area where the suspect is alleged to have broken into two separate restaurants and taken cash before pouring gasoline inside the businesses and setting each on fire.

In both cases, the sprinkler system doused the fire, limiting damage to $40,000.
