VIDEO: Casey Anthony speaks out in diary

A four-minute video diary recorded by Casey Anthony, who was notoriously embroiled in the murder trial of her young daughter, has surfaced online this morning, offering the first glimpse into her mindset since she was acquitted this summer.

The recording was made on October 13, 2011, according to Anthony, who mentions the date in the beginning of the video. She stumbles through the first minute of the black-and-white clip, saying it is her first video diary and she hates being on camera.

“I don’t know. I guess I’m liking it so far. It’s obviously a different ballgame for me because I’ve never used this before. So, I guess these will be as tedious as my audio recordings have been,” she says.

Anthony, appearing with short, blonde hair, never mentions her daughter, Caylee Anthony, whose murder she was acquitted of in July after a lengthy, publicized trial. In the video, Anthony speaks about having new possessions and a new pet, a rescue dog she adopted.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to call something mine and now I have something even, you know, as silly as saying that I have a computer, and a camera and a phone,” she says.

Anthony finishes the video by saying it’s surreal how much some things have changed, and other things have not changed, since July.

“But the good thing is that things are starting to look up and things are starting to change in a good way,” she says

Anthony doesn’t disclose her location, but says she plans to record another video.
