A Kansas City, Kan., water park is building the world's tallest, fastest water slide. At 17 stories, the Verruckt will have a terrifying drop — one that beats that of the Insano water slide in Fortaleza, Brazil, which boasts a height of 134.5 feet, reports the Kansas City Star.
The Verruckt is not a body slide. It is built for four-seat rafts: The company wrote on its blog that when it surveyed potential customers, they said that they would not want to ride such a tall slide alone. The ride also takes passengers over a hill that is five stories tall.
"Verruckt" is the German for the word insane, and the ride is sure to make a splash next May when it opens at Schlitterbahn water park. The slide is under construction, with a staircase and conveyor belt already in place.
