VIDEO: New Yorkers become heroes in fake Olympic torch run

The folks at Improv Everywhere recently fooled some New Yorkers into believing that the Olympic torch run was taking place in their city.

A woman pretending to be an injured athlete stopped strangers on the street and asked them to carry her torch to her partner around the corner. While some of the pedestrians said no, many happily said yes. As they rounded the corner with the torch in hand, they were greeted by a cheering crowd holding American flags and a TV news reporter.

The whole thing may have been a prank, but that didn’t stop these New Yorkers from enjoying their few seconds of fame.
