Visitor restrictions due to an outbreak of a norovirus-like illness has been lifted at one hospital in HRM, but remains at another.

Capital Health announced yesterday that visitors restrictions have been lifted for nursing unit 6.2 at the Halifax Infirmary site of the QEII Health Sciences Centre.

Visitor restrictions, however, remain in place for nursing unit 4 West at Dartmouth General Hospital.

Over the weekend, the long-term care facility Haliburton Place in the Hants Community Hospital in Windsor was closed to visitors because of the illness.

Health officials are asking people not to visit nursing homes or hospitals if they are ill or have close contacts who are or have been ill.
