Organizers of the 2010 Paralympic Winter Olympics are looking for about 5,000 volunteer performers to perform at the opening and closing ceremonies.

VANOC says volunteers with all types of abilities and performance skills are needed, aged six and older.

“We’re looking for thousands of people who are brimming with enthusiasm and wear their hearts on their sleeves to perform in these large-scale productions. No previous experience is necessary,” said David Guscott, VANOC’s executive vice-president of celebrations and partnerships.

The Paralympic Games open March 12, 2010, and close nine days later.

Applicants have until Oct. 9 to apply online at vancouver2010.com/cere
