Wal-Mart cuts toy prices even further

NEW YORK. Wal-Mart is dropping prices on toys for the second time this holiday season in an attempt to cement itself as the “price leader” across the nation.

The price cuts include 100 toys, like the Buzz Lightyear talking action figure and Star Wars light sabers, Reuters reported yesterday. Many of the toys will see prices fall by roughly 20 percent to 30 percent.

Wal-Mart originally cut prices in September, leading rival retailer Target to follow suit, prompting Wal-Mart to announce plans to cut prices weekly until Christmas.
