The mystery of the feet that have been washing up on Pacific Northwest shorelines has intensified with the discovery of a foot at a Washington construction site.
The extremity was discovered on Saturday in a hiking boot in Port Orchard, near Seattle. Police were called and on Monday cadaver dogs found what appeared be human remains buried nearby.
Those bones and the foot have been sent to a medical examiner to determine whether they are human.
Six feet – one of which wound up to be a bear paw – were found in running shoes on beaches along the south coast of B.C. between August 2007 and June 2008.
Investigators say it’s unlikely this recent case is related to the others.
