The nation and the still grieving families of the dozen theatergoers he killed will know at 7 p.m. Eastern time whether James Holmes gets the death penalty or life in prison for the the July 2012 massacre in Aurora, Colorado.

The madman was found guilty last month of 24 counts of first-degree murder for the 12 deaths.

Seventy other people were injured when he entered the newest Batman movie and unleashed his fury.


He had orange hair like The Joker.

The jury then entered deliberations in the death penalty phase and at 4 p.m. Eastern announced plans to reveal their decision.
