Looking back on his campaign the day before today’s municipal election, mayoral candidate Jim Watson said he’s proud of the work he’s done over the last few months.
“I feel very proud of the grassroots effort that our campaign team has put forward,” said Watson, who had a strong lead in recent polls.
“We stuck to the high road and offered a very positive plan for the future of the city. My campaign really reflects the diversity of our city, and I’m very honoured to have these (volunteers), young and old, come and support me.
“I’m very proud of our team and we’ll celebrate one way or the another. If things don’t work out, I’m still honoured to have had the opportunity to put my platform forward.”
Watson said his vision is “well-thought-out and affordable.
“It’s going to do the job to make sure we’ve got the kind of economic base for our kids and grandkids, it’s going to move transit forward.”
