We think we can dance

Simon Fuller put the question out there — so, you think you can dance? Roughly 300 Lower Mainlanders answered yes, and yesterday came to the Vancouver Centre For Performing Arts to prove it.
Auditions for Canada’s version of the reality talent show So You Think You Can Dance kicked off in Vancouver yesterday, the first stop on the audition tour that will hit Halifax, Calgary, Montreal and Toronto.
Hopefuls huddled against the rain outside the centre at 9 a.m., and once inside busted their best dance moves for a panel of producer-judges.
Those who outshone the competition will be back for a second round of try-outs tomorrow and Thursday.
Around 40 finalists from around Canada will fly to Toronto for the show, which will be hosted by MuchOnDemand’s Leah Miller.
So You Think You Can Dance Canada was created by Pop and American Idol producers Simon Fuller and Nigel Lythgoe.
