Web domain group to add 350 area jobs

New York City-based Register.com, a web services and domain registration company, is adding up to 350 new jobs in Nova Scotia within the next six years.

The company is expanding its Yarmouth location and adding an office in Halifax. The province, through Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI), is supporting the growth with a payroll rebate to a maximum of just more than $4.9 million.

The Department of Economic Development is also investing up to $1.09 million for recruitment and training. Both are incremental investments tied to hiring targets.

Register.com’s Yarmouth location is among the town’s largest employers, with more than 250 full-time jobs.

“Over the past 10 years, our Yarmouth facility has been critical to the relationships we have built with our customers,” said Larry Kutscher, CEO of Register.com. “We are excited to leverage the success we have built in Yarmouth as we further develop the support and expertise we offer our small-business customers.”
