Helps those with disease navigate stages of treatment
The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation has launched an interactive website to help equip women recently diagnosed with breast cancer with the tools to make decisions about treatment.
The site treats breast cancer as a journey, following a woman on a bicycle as she navigates through the stages of treatment, accompanied by videos of survivors’ advice and reassurances.
Jan Engemoen, with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, said there was a need for a site providing credible, comprehensive yet straightforward information.
"Because so many people now look for information online, we felt it was our responsibility to ensure that that information was available," she said.
