Weekend events may snarl traffic

The Word On The Street festival, the Toronto Waterfront Marathon andthe Korean Canadian Cultural Association races this weekend will halttraffic along several downtown streets.

The Word On The Street festival, the Toronto Waterfront Marathon and the Korean Canadian Cultural Association races this weekend will halt traffic along several downtown streets.

The five-kilometre and 10-kilometre Korean Canadian Cultural Association races will close lanes on Leslie Street, York Mills Road, Don Mills Road, Lawrence Avenue East and Eglinton Avenue East Saturday morning until noon.

Streets surrounding Queen’s Park will be closed from 9 a.m. Saturday until 11:59 p.m. Sunday for The Word On The Street, taking place Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Bloor Street to Wellesley Street will be closed in both directions along Queen’s Park.

The Toronto Waterfront Marathon will form at Nathan Phillips Square Sunday morning and road closures will be in effect starting at 5 a.m. along the marathon route.

The route is expected to be cleared for traffic by 2 p.m.
