Do you have what it takes? Extra weight and a keen attitude. You could be one of 18 people chosen for a free 12-week weight-loss competition.

The competition is run by Rob Sugar, a weight loss coach and psychotherapist. The idea is to re-train the mind to handle emotional eating. “It’s not what you’re eating; it’s what’s eating you,” is one of Sugar’s mottos. Reprogramming yourself to do regular physical activity is also part of the program. Sugar plans to record the weight-loss competition — which is modelled after Survivor and American Idol — for the Internet and have it available on Facebook and Twitter.

Contestants will be chosen based on their psychological readiness to lose weight. The winner will be selected by a panel of judges and awarded a grand prize.
