A lucky Vancouver resident went home with Tom Welling’s shorts recently. Unfortunately — or perhaps fortunately, depending on your perspective — Tom wasn’t wearing them at the time. Now that we have your attention, we have to confess that nothing untoward happened. In fact, it was all part of the annual Smallville costume sale held at the series’ Burnaby studios last Friday afternoon, where, in addition to Welling’s Billabongs, the public was also able to purchase several of the actor’s T-shirts and flannel shirts, along with leather pants and other garments worn by series stars Kristin Kreuk, Allison Mack and Erica Durance.
SMALLVILLE PLANNING MAJOR DEATH? In a previous column, we mentioned that Smallville star John Glover might be departing the series. No confirmation on that front yet, however, E! News Online is reporting that one of the four main cast members — Welling, Michael Rosenbaum, Mack or Kreuk — will be killed off before the season ends. Since we know it can’t be Lex Luthor or Supes (in fact, we’ve learned that Welling is signed with the show through an eighth season) that just leaves Lana (Kreuk) or Chloe (Mack). ROGAN TO YUCK IT UP: Fans of NBC’s popular reality show, Fear Factor, will be happy to hear that the series’ host, Joe Rogan, will headline at Yuks Yuk’s stand-up comedy club next month. The entertainer, who is also known for his role as electrician Joe Garelli on NBC’s Newsradio, will appear on stage at the club on May 4 and 5.
CELEB SIGHTINGS: Brix Restaurant and Wine Bar in Yaletown was the place to be last week, as actor/director Lou Diamond Philips, director John Landis, actor Michael Austin Cera — along with some of the cast of Arrested Development — and actor Lauren Lee Smith all descended upon the eatery. On the other hand, if you happened to be just walking around town, you might have spotted Dustin Hoffman strolling about — and several Vancouverites did.
