Sizzling Studio Fresh Sale

Today from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. is the final day of lunatic deals at Studio Fresh where you’ll find one-offs and deeply discounted merch from this coveted local collection. FF has been lusting over Studio Fresh’s textile collage skirts with a clever velcro closure for a couple of seasons and hopes to finally scoop one today. If you fondled these lovelies at the One Of A Kind show, now’s the time to score them at a discount.

Where: 160 McCaul St. (North of Queen), 416-629-9311, above the super-tasty Mangiacake panini bar.

Freedom Clothing End-of-Summer Sale

From this coming Saturday onward, Freedom Clothing is taking an extra 20 per cent off all tees and tanks, plus 10 per cent off already reduced summer merchandise. Saturday also marks the launch of the fashion collective’s first in-house line, which they describe as a “romantic urban buffet”. Check it out and support these upstart designers — many of whom are fashion students or recent grads from Ryerson’s esteemed program.

Where: The Freedom Clothing Collective, 939 Bloor St. West (647-235-3900), www.freedomclothingcollective.com.

Parkdale Arts & Crafts Festival

This coming Saturday don’t miss the Parkdale Arts & Crafts Festival from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Parkdale Town Square (Queen Street West at Cowan Avenue). Expect all kinds of crafty-fashion produced by local indie talents, plus creative activities for kids, live musical entertainment, a poetry slam and yummy edibles too.

Mark’s Work Wearhouse

Many FF readers have written in asking about affordable, flattering jeans for women over 50, some citing specific challenge areas (like less than taut tummies and derrieres). Enter Mark’s new line of butt-lifting and tummy control denims in stylish yet classic cuts that look fab on many body types (a bargain at just $49 a pair). FF was especially impressed with the tummy control jeans, which camouflaged the results of excessive summer-time ice cream consumption without cutting off circulation.
