The sixth season of Hell’s Kitchen premieres tonight on Fox and Citytv, and Whistler will feature prominently in the show.

Sixteen competitors on hot-tempered celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s reality show will be battling to out-cook each other and land the grand prize — a job at Whistler’s Araxi Restaurant.

It’s the first time the American-based show will take place — in part — outside the United States.

In the show, contestants participate in rigorous culinary challenges and work in the hot, fast-paced kitchen of Ramsay’s Los Angeles restaurant, Hell’s Kitchen. At the end of each episode, one contestant is eliminated.

Not only will the winning chef get to work under Araxi head chef James Walt, but will welcome the world during the 2010 Olympics. The show airs at 8 p.m.
