John Roberts, the Supreme Court chief justice, has been nominated as Metro readers’ Man of the Year for changing the future of America by making it safe for corporations to buy elections, according to the reader who sent in the nomination.

Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, received more nominations — and abuse — yesterday as more secret U.S. diplomatic messages were revealed.

Kim Kardashian received a sudden glut of nominations as Woman of the Year — a concerted effort by a group of fans, perhaps? — and Michelle Obama remains at the top of the list of nominations. Sarah Palin is running a close second.
