Who should be Metro’s Man and Woman of the Year?

Barack and Michelle Obama received more nominations in the Metro Man and Woman of the Year event yesterday — but Lady Gaga, Tina Fey and Steven Slater, the Jet Blue cabin crew member who stormed off a flight, also got their first backing.

“Buffy Summers” wrote: “Lady Gaga deserves this award because she is an amazing role model because she only spreads love. She made me a more loving and happy person. Lady Gaga makes all her little monsters feel special and important, she fights for gay equality and helps her fans get better self-esteem.”

Nominations also continue to pour in for Metro’s Local Heroes event: Yesterday a youth mentor from Boston, a man who developed a new wing at a fine art museum and the founder of an orchard project in Philadelphia were nominated. We’ll be featuring them soon.
