Woman critical after crash

A woman is still in critical condition after a school bus carrying a high school sports team smashed head-on into a car just north of Red Deer Saturday night.

Mounties say the investigation continues but won’t say which vehicle lost control and crossed the centre line before it collided the other one.

The woman’s car was cut in half after the collision, which happened near the town of Blackfalds on Highway 2A.

The woman was rushed to hospital in critical condition and no one on the school bus was injured in the accident.

Mounties in Red Deer say there was heavy snowfall and high winds at the time of the crash, and speed mixed with poor road conditions may be a factor in the crash.
