A woman is in critical condition in hospital after falling off a balcony while trying to escape from Richmond police.
RCMP officers had arrived at an apartment with a search warrant in relation to a fraud investigation.
Cpl. Nycki Basra said when they knocked on the door, officers on the street noticed two men, who were known to police, and a woman trying to escape out the balcony.
They climbed over a partition onto an adjacent balcony and as they made their way from the fifth floor to the fourth floor, the woman fell.
The two men escaped.
